If you have reduced mobility or are disabled, there is nothing more annoying than finding your perfect holiday only to realise that the attractions are inaccessible for your needs. Luckily, there are many accessible attractions around the world that you may not have heard or thought of for your next adventure.

Once home of the gladiators, the Roman Colosseum is a magnificent site to see if you find yourself travelling to Italy in the near future. Delving into the history and culture of the country, people of all abilities are able to explore one of the most prized attractions in the world, thanks to the accessibility features that have been safely built into the remains.

Burj Khalifa

Dubai is known as being one of the most extravagant countries in the world – and it’s not hard to see why! Currently housing the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, Dubai is a fantastic place to visit on holiday for its culture and shopping experiences. The building is a national treasure and can be visited by individuals regardless of the use of wheelchairs or the usual limitations of disability everyone is welcome to visit the most eye-opening view on the planet.

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden

Although the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden isn’t the most talked about accessible attraction in the world, it certainly shouldn’t be missed! In the heart of one of three of South Africa’s capital cities, Cape Town, it is the perfect location to wind down and sit under beautiful sunshine surrounded by beautiful flowers and wildlife. Wheelchair friendly ramps are located throughout the park and the views from Table Top Mountain over the horizon are certainly one of the many highlights of visiting the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.
